Trip to the QC

This past weekend we took a trip to the Quad Cities to celebrate our niece Akora's 1st birthday. So Saturday afternoon we spent celebrating as the party was great. Following the party we took our nephews to the skate park to show us their new moves which Hudson especially thought was really cool. After the skate park we headed to a hotel where Bernie's brother and family had a room for the night to take the kids swimming. Hudson and Paisley had a blast in the water, yet Tenley not so much. She wants NOTHING to do with pools, yet loves the bath tub. Go figure. We hung out at the pool that night before heading back to Bernie's parents to put the kids to bed. Sunday we woke and spent the day hanging out with Bernie's parents and playing outside with the kids before venturing back to DSM. We hoped the kids would sleep on the way home but that plan failed so we stopped in Willaimsburg so everyone could get out and exert some energy and then went on to Grinnell where we stopped at Pizza Ranch for dinner and to see my brother. My brother is one of the managers at the new Pizza Ranch which just opened so it was nice to see the place and him. After we stuffed our bellies full we finally made it back to DSM to hang out for the rest of the evening and get ready for another busy week. We all had a great time seeing family and celebrating Akora's 1st birthday!
