February Fun

Since my last post and Tenloey's birthday things around the Heidgerken house have been pretty low key. Now we have still been busy don't get me wrong but its been nice time at home.

The weekend following Tenley's Birthday we spent potty training. We have never attempted to potty train any of the other kids this early yet the training book that I follow says as long as they are 21 months you can go for it so we did. We spent Friday-Sunday at home and by Sunday afternoon she was trained and ready to go. The method that I follow does daytime, night time and nap time all at once. We still have accidents during naps and at night on occassion, yet we figure she just turned two and is doing pretty good in our book. She hasn't had any daytime accidents since the weekend of training so we are pretty proud of her to say the least! It is somewhat bittersweet to say that we are diaper free for the first time in 5 years. Pretty awesome to the pocketbook though.

Valentine's Day - The weekend before Valentine's we had a neighborhood party at Monkey Joes followed by dinner at the Other Place. The was Tenley's first outing since being potty trained and was actually the same weekend of potty training and she did great with no accidents. The kids had a blast playing with all the neighborhood kids and it was a fun get together for everyone. For Valentine's Day Hudson was pretty excited to take his Star Wars Valentine's to school as him and Paisley both helped me put them together. Hudson had a fun party at school and we did some fun crafts at home. That evening we gave the kids little gifts and enjoyed dinner and night in as a family.

We also visited Hudson's school in February as they had a family night with guests from the Blank Park Zoo. This was a fun family event and it was also cool seeing Hudson hang out with all this classmates and for us to meet and see their parents also.

This picture makes me laugh as Hudson looks scared - must be when they took the alligator out of the cage
Here it is - I think Bernie's fear is alligators has rubbed off on Hudson - they did get a chance to pet the alligators tail at the end of the program. Hudson initially said NO but then when his friends did it he of course did too.

Now that I look back we were quite busy in February with parties, potty training, school activities, but then again maybe we are just used to the craziness. Now onto March!
