Hunt Family Campout 2012

The weekend of July 13 was the annual Hunt family camp-out at the KOA in Onawa, Iowa. This weekend always holds dear as it allows us to do what most grand kids and great kids are not and that is to camp with their grandparents. Every year we can with my grandparents, great aunt & uncle and then my uncle and his family and kids. The campground as a great pool along with play area for the kids so everyone always stays busy yet again its a great weekend to just get away and relax. Every night and morning we have organized meals anyway from sandwiches made over the fire to a bigger meal one night which this year we had pork, chicken, sweet corn, etc and then for breakfast biscuits & gravy and omelets. The whole weekend is very organized and full of great food.

The weather was warm this year but bearable thanks to the pool and shade. We rented our regular cabin and the kids loved it. Hudson and Paisley slept in the bunk beds for the first time and had a blast while Tenley slept with us. I do have to admit by night #2 we somehow had all three kids in the full size bed with Bernie and I. Lets just say we didn't get the best sleep that night. We are so thankful for the memories we are able to create for ourselves, grandparents and the kids.

Chilling out on the bunk beds - Tenley would have slept there if she could
Annual family photo - this year taken at the car rather than the cabin since Tenley was sleeping and we were ready to head home.
