The Heidgerken Family: Adventureland

During our week stay-cation while we didn't have daycare we decided to take the kids to Adventureland along with the water park there. Usually every year we go with Bernie's work but this year we decided to add an extra trip as it seems perfect timing for the kids to enjoy it. Or at least we based it off how much they loved the rides on our trip to CA along with some of the local carnivals we have attended this summer. The nice thing about Adventureland is that all the kids can almost ride all the rides including Tenley. Of course there are a few Paisley can't ride such as the roller coasters but for the most part all rides are free game. This year for the first time Bernie took them on the Raging River which Paisley didn't enjoy the most due to how wet she got and then Bernie and Hudson went on the log ride which he loved. There were of course the rides that we repeated over and over several times but we didn't mind because the kids loved it.

We started out the day with rides until everyone was ready for a cool off at the water park. Our daycare provider was actually at the park with her kids that same day and had rented a cabana and invited us there which was a god send. It was near the most kid friendly area and also allowed Tenley to sleep in the shade while I was still able to sit in the wave pool and watch her. Bernie did take Paisley and Hudson on some of the slides in another area but overall they liked the pirate ship area that was at most 3ft deep. We stayed at the water park for almost a good 3 hours before we decided to hit some more rides. I think the second go around the kids had more energy for rides than in the beginning. We ended up staying at the park til almost close before we headed out for some much needed dinner. The kids were so exhausted they all crashed before we left the restaurant parking lot. We all had so much fun and can't wait til the FMH outing in August!
