Time is flying by

Here I am attempting to do a massive update as I have noticed I am quite behind. One reason being I just haven't had the energy to blog after the kids go to bed and another is the computer I use has been acting crazy. But here I am and here we go......

Tenley Tubes - since one of my last posts Tenley had tubes put in September 13. Surgery went well and we are excited to report that her tubes are in place, working and doing awesome. Another positive note is that from the first day she had her tubes she slept through the night for a week straight. This is BIG news in our house and I can't even explain how nice it was. Well, that is until this week where we have had Tenley in our bed every night and sleeping has been very restless. After an ENT visit to find our her ears we not the problem we visited the doctor to find out she has Hand Foot Mouth. Sores appeared in her mouth and a few on her feet. This would explain why she hasn't been sleeping well and has been a very crabby girl this week. We are so relieved to have an answer but unfortunately the only thing we can do is give her Tylenol and keep her comfortable and we still have a couple days ahead of us before she starts feeling better.

Gymnastics - Three weeks ago Paisley started gymnastics. We figured with Hudson starting school this would be something special for Paisley plus she sees all the neighborhood girls do gymnastics and was super excited. Well, class #1 she cried the whole time and didn't participate (yes this broke my heart as we were torn on pulling her out of class or having her complete it), class #2 she didn't cry but also didn't participate (she showed interest but never did anything - baby steps), class #3 was a success. This past weekend the gymnastics studio had an open play time so Bernie and I took all the kids and they had a blast. I do think this helped lead to the success of class #3. All the kids had so much fun that Hudson and Tenley want to participate with Paisley. I am so glad Paisley finally chose to participate and had fun in class. We will see how class #4 goes as she has been asking to go back.

Visit to the Heidgerkens - two weeks ago we had a busy weekend in the Quad Cities. Friday night we attended a wedding reception for our friends Andy and Jan who got married in Arizona this summer. The reception was nice as Bernie got to visit with several high school friends in addition to seeing Andy and Jan again. Saturday was a busy day preparing for Mindy and Lee's couple's baby shower. Lots of family attended and it was a hit. We are so excited to meet our new niece the end of October. Sunday we woke for family pictures to be taken by Bernie's sister Mindy. She got so many great shots of each of the kids and our family. I don't have any to post but will soon. Thanks a ton to Mindy for taking our photos. Shortly after photos we headed back to DSM as we had a birthday party to attend of our good friends son who turned 5. We had a fun night at the bowling alley and we so glad we could be a part of his birthday celebration.

Landscaping - this seems to be our September project and to come in October. This past weekend we purchased 3 trees and Bernie worked really hard planting them. I know it was a long weekend for him working but I do have to say the trees look awesome. Thanks Honey! To help Bernie a little I decided to get our of his hair and take the kids back to my parents on Saturday for a day visit. Not sure if it helped or not as then I wasn't here to help him if needed, but the kids had a blast and Bernie was able to get some work done. The kids got to spend some time on the farm with Grandma & Grandpa which I think their favorite part was riding the four wheelers and then that night my brother Cody and his family came over. The kids were SO excited to see their cousins and trust me they took advantage of it and played all night long. We headed back to DSM that night so we could be home Sunday to help Bernie and get some other stuff done around the house. We still have quite a bit of outside work to do before winter but its all coming together and looking great.
Since the ground was rock hard this machine was quite helpful

I think these are most of the updates for now. We have been staying busy like usual. The kids along with Bernie and I are doing great.
