This weekend we laid low on Friday as a family as Bernie and I both had Friday off. Bernie spent the day working on landscaping as the kids and I hung out. Hudson and Paisley did have to get flu shots which wasn't much fun but they were troopers. Saturday we and another family went to Hampton to spend the day visiting our friends Brandon, Sarah and their family. This is the gathering to where between three families we have 9 kids under the age of 5. But as always the kids played so well together which allowed the adults some time to catch up. We had a great lunch, watched some ISU football, let the kids play outside and just spent the day hanging out. We headed back home late afternoon and spent Saturday night relaxing as I think everyone was a little tired from a long day. As always we loved visiting friends and can't wait to do it again. Sunday was another relaxing day as we spent it at home basically in our pajamas. We did tackle the challenge of switching Hudson and Paisleys rooms. We plan on Paisley and Tenley sharing a room within the next couple months and getting bunk beds so we figured we would make the change now so they girls had the bigger room of the two. And, the kids were excited about it and quite helpful. We got everything switched in a pretty short amount of time and now the kids just can't wait to get new beds. Not sure if this change will help with kids sleeping in their beds ALL NIGHT LONG but its worth a shot. Now at some point in time we need to re-paint which is never the fun part but with time we will get it done. Otherwise, the day was spent playing and doing various activities with the kids and of course some cleaning here and there when time allowed.
I don't want to forget to mention that Bernie and I became the proud Aunt and Uncle to a new little niece this weekend. Bernie's sister Mindy and her husband Lee welcomed a beautiful little girl, Charlotte Grey Gardney, on Saturday morning. Everyone is doing great and we can't wait to see them all next weekend.
