This past weekend was crazy busy to say the least. We did a lot of traveling, but were able to see both sides of the family and friends. Friday we picked the kids up from daycare and headed straight to Iowa City to spend the night with Bernie's sister and her husband. We ordered Casey's pizza and hung out for the night. Saturday we woke and got ready to get pictures taken as Bernie's sister does photography. The kids did great and we got so many good photos. Thank-you to Mindy for capturing them all. After pictures we headed out to lunch where we met the rest of Bernie's family. Following lunch we headed back to Mindy and Lee's house to hang out for the afternoon before heading back to DSM. It was nice to get home as the kids were able to play and we were able to relax a little. Sunday we headed out right away in the morning for Glidden to have dinner with my family to celebrate my parents 35th wedding anniversary. It was special to spend the day with them and together as a family to celebrate the marriage of my parents. My mom made a great lunch and it was fun catching up with everyone and letting the kids play. Late afternoon we came back to DSM and then headed to Ankeny to our friends Jason & Ashlee's house to see Bernie's friend Tyson who was back visiting from Florida. Bernie, Jason and Tyson were all room-mates in college and Jason and Tyson were both in our wedding. Tyson and his family live in Florida and Jason and his family just moved back a couple months ago. So, to say the least since college we haven't been able to see much of each other with so much distance between everyone. With that said it was so nice getting together and catching up. The kids had a great time playing which made it night for the adults to converse. I brought the kids home for baths and bed while Bernie hung out for a while longer catching up with the boys. It was seeing old friends as we wish we were able to get everyone together more often. All in all we had a busy but great weekend. I am so glad we were able to see both of our families along with our friends. To tell the truth though I was so exhausted last night I fell asleep with the kids and could have taken Monday off to re-coop. Doing all that traveling with three kids is exhausting to say the least, but everyone were troopers and we had a fun time. Here are some pictures Mindy took along with pictures from my parents house.
